For the Past 35
years Mike has worked for the Washtenaw County (Michigan) Community
Mental Health Department and the Public Health Department. His position
was to provide and supervise mental health promotion services to
the community. He is a founding member and clinical director of both
the Washtenaw County Critical Incident Stress Management Team (with
a focus on support to first responders) and the Traumatic Events
Response Network (with a focus on the community following traumatic
events), founding member and past President of the Michigan Crisis
Response Association. Mike has provided
consultation, training and response services to schools, community
organizations, police, fire, and EMS departments regarding crisis
intervention, post trauma response, grief and loss, stress management,
crisis management and crisis planning. He is an approved International
Critical Incident Stress Foundation trainer for Group (Basic) Crisis
Intervention, Advanced Group Crisis Intervention, 1-1/Peer Crisis
Intervention and Managing School Crisis.
