Moderated by Dr. Steele, adult survivors exposed to the traumatic, violent deaths of their children tell their story. The format begins with a single survivor who tells her story followed by comments from other survivors who healed. Following each survivor’s story others briefly identify specific reactions and talk about the healing process.

This video is an excellent training tool for use by any clinician who has not had significant exposure to adults traumatized by a violent death of a family member. It gives the clinician a “language” that becomes invaluable in communicating with survivors.
Children of Trauma

Children of Trauma: Tools to Help the Helper
60 minutes VHS

This video demonstrates TLC’s Structured Sensory Intervention with Children. Children ages six, eleven and fifteen are interviewed, demonstrating specific trauma intervention tasks and questions. Dr. Steele comments on the responses of the children to the structured sensory process.

An adult example using the same sensory structured process demonstrates the significant healing impact this intervention can provide in a short period of time when that intervention is trauma-focused.
